Hair & Nail Fungus Treatment
The hair and nails are often indicators of our overall health. The Children’s Skin Center’s board-certified dermatologists and certified physician assistants have advanced training in diagnosing and treating all types of dermatological conditions affecting the hair and nails, including:
Hair Loss
While some hair loss is normal and expected, excessive hair loss can indicate an underlying condition, or it may be a result of hormones, nutritional imbalance, or genetics.
Nail Fungus
Health issues often affect the nails, so it’s important to address any unexplained changes. Discoloration or thickening of the nails can signal anemia, diabetes, or an issue with the liver, kidney, heart, or lungs. Nail problems may also be caused by certain medications, and nails are also susceptible to splitting, cracking, and fungal and bacterial infections.
